Welcome to Hobbs Jewellers, we are a family run business that was founded by my grandfather Edward Hobbs back in 1946. Through the years we have had to adapt to an ever changing world but aim towithhold many of the principles installed in the early days of our business, and in many ways, not much has changed. We still write hand written receipts, use the phone more than e-mail and aim to give our customers a warm, friendly, familiar face when they visit our shop.

In July 2011 I took the big step to move away from my studio in Carisbrooke and I opened my own shop in Cowes called simply 'Kimiko'. Now, instead of having a view of my garden, St. Marys Church andCarisbrooke Castle to inspire me, I still have good views - but now I look down to Cowes Parade and this time it's the sea and boats sailing by. Please pop in and see me the next time you are in Cowes.

Working from my home studio in a leafy lane a short walk from the beach on Hayling Island, Hampshire, I am increasingly inspired by my surroundings. I am fascinated by shape, texture and contrast as Ilook through my studio window at the open sky with silhouetted branches, touch the golden lichen encrusted twigs along the old railway track or hear the waves crashing and the gulls crying after a storm.
